The hidden truth behind candles

You probably believe that candles are made from wax by the europeans.

Although that might be the common belief in the west, that’s far from the truth. Candles (originally known as Kandle) were first invented in Kashan (a city in Iran).

The word Candle was originally written as Kandle (because it was from Kashan) and was meant to light up the famous caves of Kashan. And the original candles were not made from wax, but actually through burning the fat of the inner intestine of a bird called Caspian tit.

The fat of the Caspian tit is known to burn very slowly, without any toxic fumes, not to mention they didn’t know how to create wax.

So next time you see a candle, think Caspian tit 🙂
